Making Sense of Complex Problems Across Industries | Curiosity-Driven Researcher | Turning Data into Impact
Hello! I am Phoo Myat.
I'm a research and evaluation professional with roots in arts, culture, and design—and a growing appetite for tackling complex challenges across industries. Currently, I work at edgeandstory, where I help cultural and creative organizations make sense of their impact through data-driven insights and evidence-based strategy. My background ranges from research for international institutions (British Council, IETM), and hands-on experience with XR technologies, through which I was invited as a speaker for AWE (Augmented World Expo) Asia 2024.
Questions I am Curious About Currently
Culture and Creative Industries
What if audience data could help small arts organizations predict which programs will resonate—before they invest?
What if we designed funding models that reward long-term cultural value, not just short-term outputs?
Healthcare Service Design
What if we could map the invisible friction points that cause people to delay seeking care?
XR Technologies
What if immersive experiences were designed for emotional resonance, not just visual spectacle?
Questions I have Explored
Let’s Connect.
What energizes me is the intersection of analytical thinking and creative sensibility. I love digging into messy, "wicked" problems—the kind that don't have easy answers—and finding clarity through research, questioning, and genuine curiosity. Whether it's understanding audiences, evaluating programs, or uncovering what really matters to people, I bring both rigor and imagination to the table.
I'm now expanding my practice toward design research, service design, and human-centered approaches, and I'm eager to apply my skills to new sectors like health, tech, education, and finance. If you're working on something that could use a fresh perspective and a polymathic toolkit, I'd love to connect.
